By Frederick Kiwanuka A Nakasongola parliamentary woman candidate was on Thursday ambushed as she returned home after nomination. Grace Bageya Tubuita, one of three nominated candidates for the Nakasongola Woman seat, lost her mobile phone and an unspecified amount of money to the thugs at about 9:00pm at Mbaliye village on Nakasongola-Kazwama Road. The District Police Commander, Mr. Richard Achoroyi, said Bageya was traveling from Nakasongola town on her father's mini-bus when the incident occurred. Achoroyi said two armed thugs wielding AK47 guns emerged from the bush and ordered the driver to stop and put Bageya and her entourage at gunpoint. He said the thugs later frisked everybody, taking all valuables, before disappearing into the bush. Achoroyi said the Police had not arrested any suspect by the weekend. Ends
