MBARARA United and Masaka LC have turned out to be revelations for this year's Nile Special Super league.

The two teams have posted good results especially at home and have turned out as a threat to their opponents. Mbarara which rejoined the league this year, now lead the table with 23 points from 11 matches. Their striker Joseph Kayemba is at eight goals one behind leading scorer Hassan Mubiru of Express. Masaka who are among the debutants this season are in sixth position with 18 points from 11 games. The team handled by Sam Timbe plays exciting soccer with short ground passes. Masaka has turned their home ground into a slaughter-house . It is only SC Villa and Mbarara who have beaten them at home. Ismail Kigozi and Jimmy Sewankambo are the team's leading strikers with six and three goals respectively. Kigozi's good dribbling skills has earned him a call to the national team, the Cranes. The league resumes Tuesday with a match between Simba and Mbale Heroes at Nakivubo. Simba this week, licensed two veterans, Mohammed Kateregga and Paul Mutakabala to bolster their attack. r The champions' league of the City Tyres under-14 junior tourney which was due to kick off today, has been postponed to June 9 to enable the footballing public to watch the Cranes -Togo match.
