Hockey: Wananchi B overwhelm City Cubs

Wananchi B 4 City Cubs 0 Sadolin 2 Wananchi A 2 Classified 2 Weatherhead 0 WANANCHI B team clinched another easy victory over City Cubs as the national hockey league entered its second week of action on Sunday, reports Fred Nangoli and Betty Enangu. Edward Sewali scored the first goal in the 33rd minute while Thomas Etoma and Patrick Yoacel netted other goals to put Wananchi B into the lead. The afternoon victory brings the men's new entrants to a second consecutive win since the May 27 opener against MUBS. The team now leads the league table with six points two ahead of veteran Wananchi A. At Lugogo, club champions Sadolin Rockets were held to a 2-all draw by Wananchi A in a tense match. Sadolin spurred by Samuel Kiyaga scored twice but failed to hold the pressure allowing Wananchi A to level through goals by Peter Mugerwa . The tournament still running for the next ten weeks is organised by Uganda Hockey Association (UHA) in Kampala. Nine clubs including three ladies teams are in the competition gunning for the top prize. Ends
