By James Bakunzi POOR loan recovery under the Entandikwa loan scheme has frustrated government's effort to eradicate poverty, the LC3 chairman Rubaga Division, Mr. Justin Sendikaddiwa, has said. He said the Government should provide clear guidelines to lower councils on how to treat Entandikwa defaulters. Sendikaddiwa was addressing Kasubi and Lubya women at a workshop on herbal medicine and commercial cookery at Kasubi Church of Uganda primary School on Saturday. He said although most of the people were trained on how to utilise the funds, out of sh120m given to the division in the year 2000, of the 250 people who applied for the funds, only 13 have paid. "I have a long list of these defaulters and we are ready to expose them after which we shall send the list at the Entandikwa secretariat for action," he said. He advised women to apply for loans since they are dedicated and trust- worthy. "This year, we have received sh300m for Entandikwa and I urge you to apply for these funds," he said. The secretary for finance and planning, Kampala City Council Mrs. Florence Bagunywa Nkalubo,s urged women to engage in income generating activities to uplift their families. Ends
