PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni will today address rallies in Kampala to boost Movement candidates in the race for the seventh Parliament, reports Hamis Kaheru. The Director of Information at the Movement Secretariat, Ofwono Opondo, yesterday said Museveni's first rally will be in Kawempe South where Medi Kaggwa and Sam Hashaka are pitted against Ssebuliba Mutumba, a multipartist. The second rally is in Kawempe North where Hajji Latif Sebaggala seems to be commanding an early lead. Latif is brother to Kampala ex-mayor Hajji Nasser Sebaggala. Ofwono said Museveni would go to Rubaga North to boost Tom Kayongo against Beti Kamya, Wasswa Lule and Rashid Musisi. Multiparty candidates in Rubaga South are Ken Lukyamuzi and Damiano Lubega. Ofwono said the rallies would be preceded with meeting Movement campaign agents to lay strategies for defeating multipartists. "We still believe that where we can convince one Movement candidate to step down in favour of another, the better," Ofwono said. Museveni will campaign in Wakiso, Mpigi and Masaka districts on Friday, and Bushenyi and Arua over the weekend. Ends
