TWENTY-NINE former Kony captives return home today from Khartoum, Sudan, writes Edith Kimuli. The head of the International Organisation for Migration mission, Mr. John Walburn, said yesterday of the returnees, 17 were children of whom 10 were born in captivity. He said the captives had been rescued or had fled from Kony captivity between 2000 and 2001. Early in the week, 33 returnees were expected back home, but Walburn said one of them was a Sudanese national, who was abducted from a camp in Uganda. Others opted to come home later. He said they would hand over the former captives to UNICEF and World Vision. The two organisations would be responsible for returning the ex-captives to their families. The group arrives at Entebbe Airport at 9:10am aboard Kenya Airways. Thousands of children are believed to be still under Kony captivity in southern Sudan, including girls abducted from St Mary's College, Aboke in Apac district. They have been forced to marry rebel leaders. Ends
