On Saturday, Gulu won the competition for the first time after many near misses. The team earned an aggregate of 209 points after going top in girl's category and taking second place in the boy's. Luwero, who were seeking a record fifth title, came second overall at 188 points after taking the boy's trophy while Arua were third at 109. Gulu education officer in charge of sports Aldo Otto, said patience and hard work propelled them to success. "We worked hard to for this win, we have waited patiently for this moment," Otto said. Gulu again made an impact in field events with victory in the boy's long jump, girl's discuss, long jump and triple jump. Ends
