Mbarara, Tororo towns sign memorandum of understanding

MBARARA and Tororomunicipalities have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish and promote political, technical and social links to improve on service delivery.

The endorsing of the memoradum took place on Saturday at Mbarara Municipal Council Hall and was witnessed by councillors from both municipalities. The Tororo Mayor, Paul Sande Emolot said, "this memorandum of understanding is aimed at improving managerial skills of our personnel for more effective service delivery." He added that this would be achieved through visits to various departments, joint discussions, seminars and workshops. Emolot said the municipalities would establish information exchange medium about each other's activities through publications like magazines and brochures. The Mbarara Municipality Mayor, Robert Rutehenda said, "the memorandum aims at developing and promoting technical links to improve on service delivery to our people." "We shall attain our goals through consultations, educating our people to eradicate poverty and ignorance and teamwork especially in areas of physical planning, land surveying and engineering," he added. The Mbarara chief town officer, David Bashakaara was also present. Ends
