Kabaka Mutebi, Iguru Invited To Libya

LIBYAN leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi has invited the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Mutebi II and Bunyoro's King Solomon Gafabusa Iguru to visit his country.

By Yunusu Abbey LIBYAN leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi has invited the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Mutebi II and Bunyoro's King Solomon Gafabusa Iguru to visit his country. Gaddafi, who has been here on a three-day visit to Toro kingdom, directed the Libyan ambassador in Uganda, Abdallah Buljedian, to liaise with Habib Kagimu and organise the trip. Gaddafi flew to Sudan yesterday to meet the Sudanese president Gen. Omar Bashir. Kagimu, a Kampala businessman and chairman of The Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel, is a close friend of Gaddafi and President Yoweri Museveni. Kagimu studied in Libya and is married to a Libyan woman. Mutebi is currently in London where his wife the Nnabagereka, Sylivia Nagginda delivered a baby girl on July 4. A date for the Kabaka's return is yet to be announced. Gaddafi, 58, extended the invitation to the two kings on Sunday when he was introduced to Buganda's Katikkiro Joseph Ssemwogerere and Gafabusa at Toro King Oyo Nyimba Iguru's sixth coronation anniversary in Fort Portal town on Sunday. Gaddafi, who said he strongly supported the Uganda cultural institutions, was the chief guest at King Oyo's coronation ceremony. Ends
