Kasese Robbers Kill 2 Investors

TWO people have been shot dead in an attempted robbery in Hima town, Kasese district.

The Police Commander, Pius Mutabazi, identified the victims as Youngman Marsel, 67, and his son Jaden Marsel, 20. "This was an attempted robbery. The robbers came in the house and asked for money. The victim had withdrawn money from a bank to pay workers at his lime works in Hima town," he said. Mutabazi said the two men died enroute to Kilembe Hospital. The victims originate from the Seychelles. Youngman has been living in Kasese for over 20 years. Mutabazi said Youngman owned a lime quarry in Hima and used to supply lime to Kilembe Mines. Kilembe Mines is the main lime supplier to the Kasese Cobalt Company Limited. This is the second murder in Kasese in less than one month after a gunman shot dead Hajji Hassan Nbyareba, a trader at Mubuku Irrigation Scheme on June 28. Eye witnesses said the incident happened at around 10:00pm on Saturday. Ends
