By Davis Weddi THE Police and Tracker Uganda Limited yesterday recovered a Makerere University Toyota Prado used by former Presidential candidate Kibirige Mayanja. The vehicle was recovered in a house in Nsimbiziwome, Ntinda, a Kampala suburb, at around 1:00am, four hours after it had been grabbed by three armed thugs from its driver. Kibirige had just been dropped at his home in Kawempe, Mbogo. Kibirige works with Makerere University Department of Planning and Development. The thugs had changed the car’s registration number from UG 1205E to 67 UDQ. Police also recovered one sub-machine gun and 10 forged number plates from the house. Another vehicle, a Toyota Corona, that was reportedly robbed in April in Kawempe was also recovered. Kampala’s Police chief Ahmed Wafuba said the vehicle was robbed from Mansul Bwanika near Kawempe Police Station on Tuesday last week. Wafuba said Bwanika reported to Police at 11:00pm and the Police informed Tracker which found it in Ntinda in a garage of a house said to belong to a woman only identified as Solome. Ends
