LUWEERO police and LDUs have busted a racket of highway robbers believed to have been waylaying traders and motorists

By Frederick Kiwanuka LUWEERO police and LDUs have busted a racket of highway robbers believed to have been waylaying traders and motorists on Luweero-Ngoma road. The group, led by a UPDF lieutenant, was arrested during a security operation on Wednesday. The Police also recovered military uniforms, pangas and fake guns which the thugs have been using. Those arrested include Lt. Charles Mayanja, Daniel Kikonyogo, Christopher Mukasa Kamya and Sengendo. Irene Tibaaga, the district Police boss, said the thugs have been targeting traders at Ngoma market. He said on the day the suspects were arrested, they had made a vain attempt to rob traders who alerted the Police.
