By Isaac Kiyingi THE High Court has issued a warrant of arrest for the Wakiso district LC3 chairman, F.P.K Sengendo, for failure to pay rent arrears of over sh7m to an Asian landlord. The warrant was issued by the deputy High Court registrar, Mr H. Walayo recently. Walayo issued the warrant after Sengendo failed to pay the debt he owed Premnath Kapoor. Kapoor, through Sebalu, Lule and Co. Advocates, sued Sengendo in 1997 claiming sh8,250,000m, in rent arrears. Sengendo accumulated the amount as result of monthly rent charges and costs of the suit. High Court Judge Arach Amoko ordered Sengendo to pay the money in June 1998, but he failed. In May this year, Kap-oor, applied to court for attachment of Sengendo’s property which inclu-ded a computer, tables, chairs and a typewriter. On July 12, Kapoor re-applied to court seeking a warrant of arrest after discovering that Sengendo’s property was valued at sh1.7m which could not enable him recover the debt. Court granted the warrant and ordered Francis Kibekityo Court bailiffs to arrest and produce him in court as soon as possible.
