UGANDA will make a maiden appearance at the All Africa pool championship with national champion Bob Menani as team captain.

By William Muwonge UGANDA will make a maiden appearance at the All Africa pool championship with national champion Bob Menani as team captain. Nine other players will join the Menani for the event in Windhoek, Namibia in November. Menani, the greatest player of his generation, earned an automatic entry to the continental competition after winning the Nile Special national pool championship at the weekend. Uganda Pool Association (UPA) secretary Musisi Bbosa, said the nine players will be picked after a selection tournament. Menani’s victory at the national tournament fetched him sh1m, a DSTV set handed over by the sponsors Nile Breweries Limited and Multichoice in Kampala yesterday. Menani beat Mohamed Kazibwe 8-6 in the closely contested final at the DV8 Bar and Bistro. Kazibwe walked away with sh500,000, Edison Kasyata who was third sh250,000 while Ofono Kinene fourth got sh100,000. Ends
