By Nicholas Kajoba THE Kayunga LC5 chairman, Mr. Steven Dagada, has said the district lacks safe water and has poor sanitation condition. Dagada said this on Saturday while inspecting schools in the district. he said local leaders should initiate methods of getting safe water to the district. “district leaders shall work together with the community to stop the problem of poor sanitation,’’ Dagada said. He said some parents were not willing to provide their children with necessities like food adding that a hungry child could not learn. Dagada said the district had received a consignment of textbooks under the super six programme and some sub-counties had secured furniture for their schools. He said the district was planning to recruit 240 teachers to boost the universal Primary Education programme. Dagada accused some headteachers of failing to do their supervisory work adequately saying they spend little time at their schools. He also said pupils lacked enough classrooms.
