The Kabale district LC5 chairman, Dr. Francis Runumi, urged leaders to uphold openness in fighting the killer disease and to intensify their Aids awareness campaigns. Julius Byenkya, one of the facilitators of a one- day workshop for stakeholders in the district, said only 2,000 Aids patients were undergoing treatment with anti-retroviral drugs. Funded by the Uganda Aids Commission, the project begins this month and will run for the next five years.
