By Eddie Ssejjoba THE Masaka diocesan bishop, John Baptist Kaggwa, has said the church will not accept any money from witchdoctors, saying it is earned through ungodly means. The Bishop said this on Sunday during his pastoral tour of Nyendo Catholic sub-parish in Masaka town to acquaint himself with the parishoners’ problems. The tour was also to enable him get the people’s opinions on church affairs. Kaggwa answered questions from the laity after a mass during which he wed four couples and baptised 21 children. One of the traditional doctors asked the bishop whether it was permissible for them to remit some of their earnings from their practice to aid the church. He also asked whether witchdoctors could be allowed to pay the tithe that is obligatory to all Catholics. Kaggwa said practicing witchcraft was satanic and breaks the first commandment of God. He said whoever involved themselves in witchcraft could not be entertained in the Church. He said the witchdoctors earned their money through false means like lying to their customers. However, he said other healers who gave treatment without any satanic attachments were always welcome in the church because their money was clean.
