THE Inspectorate of Government regional office in Arua is investigating allegations of irregularities in the award of tenders in Nebbi and Arua districts, reports Miria Sidney.
The Inspectorate Officer, Mr. Moses Adonyo-Olet, told The New Vision on Friday that they had received complaints from building contractors and those who had expressed interest in markets in the 2001/2002 financial year in Nebbi and Arua.
“We are investigating allegations that some members of the tender boards have been asking for bribes and that there have been underhand methods and political interference in the award of tenders,†he said.
He cited alleged irregular award of Kamu Kamu grade ‘A’ market in Rhino Camp.
