MAYUGE — The town council has passed a sh80m budget for the financial year 2001-2002. Finance secretary Moses Waikova presented the budget estimates at the District Farm Institute. The district council chairman, Baker Ikoba, chaired the meeting attended by councillors, heads of department and sub-county chiefs. Waikova said sh57m would come from the central government as grants and sh22m from local revenue from graduated taxes, licences and permits.
