DIRECTORATE OF WATER DEVELOPMENT RUWASA Invitation to Tender for Consultancy Services to undertake Supervision of the Construction of Seven Gravity Flow Schemes in Mbale, Sironko and Kapchorwa Districts in the RUWASA Project Area The Rural Water and Sanitation Eastern Uganda (RUWASA) Project is a Government of Uganda Project assisted by DANIDA. It is involved in the provision of water and promotion of hygiene and sanitation among rural communities in several districts in Eastern Uganda. Proposals are hereby invited from qualified and capable Consultancy firms with relevant experience, fully registered in Uganda for supervision of the construction of seven gravity flow schemes in Mbale (4), Sironko (1) and Kapchorwa (2) Districts. The schemes are already designed and the procurement process for the contractors is already in progress. The consultancy assignment is planned to begin in November 2001 and is to be accomplished by August 2002. Tenderers who wish to, may visit the sites independently, after direct arrangement with the respective District Water Offices, starting 1st October, 2001. A Pre Tender Seminar will be held on 3rd October, 2001 at 10.00 a.m in RUWASA Project Office Conference Room, Mbale. The Tenderers shall seal the Originals and two copies of their Proposals in one envelope. The envelope shall NOT indicate the name and address of the Tenderer. The plain envelope shall bear the following identification: “Proposal for Supervision of the Construction of Gravity Flow Schemes, Tender No. 2001/GFS/SUP/01. Do not open before 10:00 a.m on 16th October, 2001”. Completed proposals accompanied by a Tender Security of Uganda shillings Three Hundred Thousand only (Ug.Shs 300,000/=) should be submitted not later than 10.00 a.m on 16th October, 2001 to: The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment, Century House, 2nd Floor Room 3, Parliament Avenue, P.O. Box 7096, Kampala, Uganda. The Proposals will be opened on 16th October, 2001 in the presence of Tenderers representatives who choose to attend.
