By Afred Wasike THE Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is waiting for the judgement from the High Court to move on the Minister of State for Industry, Dr Richard Nduhuura, for voting twice contrary to the law. CID chief Elizabeth Kutesa told The New Vision yesterday, “We are just waiting for the detailed judgement from the courts to move. We need the detailed ruling to enable us work. But we shall be advised by the DPP once there is evidence that he (Nduhuura) committed the alleged offences. But he faces a variety of issues in the electoral law.” On Tuesday, the High Court in Mbarara nullified Nduhuura’s election as MP for Igara East and ordered for fresh elections in the constituency. The ruling arose out of an election petition filed by Nduhuura’s rival, Spencer Turwomwe, who accused him of vote rigging and voting twice. In his judgement, Justice Musoke Kibuuka said the evidence adduced by eye witnesses in court proved that Nduhuura voted twice in the elections. Third Deputy Premier James Wapakhabulo was recently quoted as saying Nduhuura would not lose his ministerial position when he loses his parliamentary seat. Ends
