By Kyetume Kasanga Masindi Action Aid Project has committed sh801m this year to boost food security and education in the district, the project coordinator, Mr. Edward Kakande, has disclosed. He told The New Vision on Tuesday that the money would be disbursed through community-based organisations and sub-county initiatives. “We have taken on two main themes, food security and education, although some integration of the Government priority programmes will eventually come in,” he said. Kakande said over sh400m had been spent on classroom and office block construction in 11 primary schools. He said beneficiary sub-counties included Mutunda, Bwijanga, Kimengo and Kigumba. Others sub-counties were Kiryandongo, Masindi-Port, Biiso and Masinhe. The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development.
