MEMORIES of Express’ first round fluke win are still fresh in the minds of Masaka players and officials.

By D. Saire, D. Buregyeya and Joseph Wanzusi Masaka v Express Police v Heroes MEMORIES of Express’ first round fluke win are still fresh in the minds of Masaka players and officials. Disgraced referee Ben Matovu helped Express beat Masaka 3-2 during their first round encounter at Namboole. Matovu was later banned for three years and that win has not helped Express much as they lie fourth on the Nile Special Super League table. Masaka has been in residential training at Nabugabo beach, in the company of district LC 5 boss Vincent Ssempijja in preparation for a clash today against Express. Coach Sam Timbe vowed to secure maximum points. “It is our time to avenge the first round defeat in a match we should have won,” he said. Jimmy Ssewankambo and Ismail Kigozi will lead the attack. Express coach Godfrey Nyola badly needs the win to cool tempers (at least for now) among the irate fans who are bitter over the team’s poor performance this season. Top striker Hassan Mubiru may be the only happy man at Express if he can score more goals and consolidate his top position on the scores chart. At Nakivubo, it will be a titanic clash between Police and high riding Mbale Heroes. Heroes coach Idriss Bogere said he wanted to consolidate the team’s third position on the table. Nakivubo has been a good hunting ground for Heroes from where it has lost just one match this season against Simba which Police has vowed to reverse. ends
