By Nathan Etengu ONE suspected robber was killed and four others including a retired Lt. Colonel were arrested on Friday in Mbale town. Michale Nambafu, a resident of Mutoto village on the outskirts of Mbale town was killed in a shoot-out with the Police and military intelligence personnel. Lt. Col.(retired) Samuel Kasujja was arrested at the thugs’ hide-out in Namatala slums in Mbale. Also arrested were Twaha Sseguya, a special hire taxi driver from Ndeeba, Kampala and a Karimojong woman identified as Susan Namoi. However, one suspect only identified as Mafabi, managed to escape with a gun. Mbale District Police Commander, Mr. Celestine Oire Eyagu and the Resident District Commissioner, Mr. Hassan Wasswa Galiwango confirmed the incident. Eyagu said the thugs were planning to rob Rafiki Soap Works in Mbale industrial area. He said the military intelligence and Police who had been following the thugs since Thursday caught up with them in Namatala. He said a gun and several bullets were recovered from the thugs. ends
