Hoima district local government has availed a piece of land to the Judiciary to build premises for the High Court and the Chief Magistrates Court.

By Amlan Tumusiime Hoima district local government has availed a piece of land to the Judiciary to build premises for the High Court and the Chief Magistrates Court. District leaders have also petitioned the Judiciary to have the resident judge based in Hoima and not in Masindi as proposed by the Judiciary, saying Hoima is the central point of Bunyoro region. The leaders made the resolutions on Wednesday while meeting officials from the Judiciary. The RDC, Simon Mulongo, attended. Justice J.M Okello from the court of Appeal and Mr. Wilson Musene, the registrar of the Supreme Court, were in the district to gather peoples views with the aim of strengthening the integrity of the Judiciary. Okello told the district leaders that Masindi district had been identified to house the office of the resident judge for the region.
