THE Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), has disclosed that the Libyan Embassy was claiming the foreign species of birds seized in May at Entebbe International Airport.
UWA officials, said they would not hand them over because the Embassy had failed to produce relevant documents.
The Customs Department intercepted six cockatoos and six lovebirds, natives of Australia and south Africa, respectively.
The birds labelled ‘diplomatic luggage’ were being ferried by the Libya team after the President ceremony.
