FARMERS in Lira district have been advised to plant improved high yielding seeds to boost their farm output and increase household incomes, reports Ali Mao.
The General Manager, Harvest Farm Seeds, Josephine A Okot said it was important for farmers in the region to plant high yielding seeds to get high agricultural produce.
Okot was speaking to The New Vision during the World Food Day celebrations at Okwalamara Ogur sub-county, in Lira district. The occasion was attended by the first Deputy Prime Minister, Eriya Kategaya.
Okot said they planned to increase the agricultural production of farmers in Lira through the distribution of improved seeds at an affordable price.
She said they are also working closely with the Ministry of Agriculture to adopt and improve agricultural technologies in all sectors so that farmers benefit from their produce.
Okot also won a trophy and a certificate of recognition for her participation in the World Food Day competition.
