By Raynel Kanyambu and Pidson Mugizi THE Bushenyi Police are investigating the Minister of State for Industry, Dr. Richard Nduhuura, for his alleged illegal use of a government vehicle for campaigns and forging its number plate. Nduhuura, who is one of the candidates in the Igara East by-election, has a white Nissan Patrol vehicle No. UPI 341, whose number plates were allegedly forged. Police said there were reports that the vehicle’s registration is UPI 314. The number plate on the vehicle was originally of Honda Saloon first registered in 1990 in the name of Herbert Muramagi. Muramagi, who works with the ISO headquarters, declined to comment when contacted on phone. The by-election slated for November 15, follows the nullification of Nduhuura’s June election victory by the High Court. The Bushenyi Deputy District Police Commander, Ivan Nkwatsibwe, said the issue of the official vehicle was brought up by Spencer Turwomwe, his opponent. “Spencer Turwomwe complained to the Police that Nduhuura had faked vehicle number plates, which we could not underrate,” Nkwatsibwe said.
