FUFA secretary Godfrey Kisekka has changed his mind and says he intends to seek re-election on December 1.

By Daniel Saire FUFA secretary Godfrey Kisekka has changed his mind and says he intends to seek re-election on December 1. Kisekka met football officials from eastern Uganda in the company of Denis Obua at Bellevue Hotel in Jinja on Tuesday and urged them to support him. Kisekka said it was “ a mistake” to pull out without first informing those who elected him in 1998. The other contender for the FUFA presidency Michael Okiror meanwhile has also started his public campaigns. He is in Jinja to meet all delegates from the eastern region. Okiror sounded confident, saying what FUFA needs is a respectable head who can ensure that the technicians do their work. Okiror said the issue of an alliance against Obua was out of question at the moment. Abbas Kaawaase, Twaha Kakaire and Joseph Kaggwa are the other contenders. “Obua does not have the numbers, a majority of people who voted him in 1998 have deserted him. In any case many gave him votes due to my influence,” he said. ends
