FUFA vice chairman Polly Ouma has been thrown out of the Re-elect Obua camp.

By Daniel Saire FUFA vice chairman Polly Ouma has been thrown out of the Re-elect Obua camp. The New Vision learnt yesterday that a strategic meeting chaired by FUFA president Denis Obua resolved that they seek another candidate to replace Ouma, who they listed among people who have let down the current executive. The team that sat yesterday night at Lugogo Police Club also told Obua to ensure that Ouma is not re-elected to the executive in case they won. “He has been a total flop as he failed to streamline the technical committee leading to poor performances,” said one of the people that attended the meeting. They accused Ouma of failure to watch league matches to spot players and clashing with national players whenever they go to camp. “These are some of the mistakes that have made Obua unpopular and we do not want them repeated,” added the source. But Ouma denied any wrongdoing and instead blamed embattled FUFA secretary Godfrey Kisekka for the mess. Ouma said that he always made annual work plans but Kisekka failed to have them implemented because of poor management. “What could they expect me to do if I produced my annual programmes and the secretariat lacked vision?” he charged. Kisekka has already pulled out of the race for re-election due December 1. Meanwhile, adds Fred Kaweesi, one of the challengers bidding to oust the Obua-led Federation of Uganda Football Associations(FUFA) executive, Hajji Abbas Kaawaase, says he is willing to work with other aspirants to create a change in government. Kaawaase cautioned voters to reflect on the downward trend football is taking in the country, before deciding a successor to Obua. “Obua claims to have support because he is only using money to buy delegates,” Kaawaase charged. Kaawaase intends to hold his next campaigns in the outskirts of Kampala, then travel to eastern and western regions. Michael Okiror, Twaha Kakaire and Joseph Kaggwa are also in the race. ends
