THE Lira LC5 chairman, James Obua Otoa, has said the prime suspect in the September 11 attack on the Pentagon in the United States, Osama bin Laden and his Al-Qaeda network must not take root in Uganda, reports Ali Mao. He said this recently during the World Food Day celebrations at Okwalamara Primary School in Lira district. He said the concept of terrorism was totally alien to the people of Lira district and Lango. He said they had condemned attempts to recruit anti-government rebels that would have led to acts of terrorism. “If there are local varieties of Osama bin Laden trying to fan hatred and division, we will do our best to expose them to the Government and bring the full weight of the law upon them. So the people of Lira are behind the Government in this regard,” he said. Obua said the security situation had greatly improved since March this year.
