THE Jinja District Vice-Chairman, Jim Isanga, last week survived being beaten by angry residents of Namulesa village, for trying to rescue a suspected thief from being lynched, reports Charles Kakamwa. By the time Isanga reached the scene, the suspect only identified as Robert, was being taken to the same spot where two chicken thieves were killed two weeks ago to face the same fate. Isanga’s vehicle was damaged in the scuffle before he drove the suspect away to Mafubira sub-county prison. The area LC1 chairman Kemba said Robert was nabbed at 10:00am while he was allegedly trying to steal a bicycle.
