By Catherine Ntabadde THE Member of Parliament for Rubaga South, John Ken Lukyamuzi, has appointed a chairman for Kabaawo zone, citing irregularities in the recent local council (LC) elections. Lukyamuzi announced the appointment of Ismail Katongole as acting LC1 chairman yesterday during a meeting with Kabaawo residents at his home in Wankulukuku. He said Katongole, who was the secretary for defence, would act as chairman until the Electoral Commission resolved the dispute over the polls won by Judith Nsubuga. “Kabaawo residents did not vote. There was too much rigging. We have proof. We are going to courts of law to nullify the elections,” Lukyamuzi said during the meeting. Ends
