Ten winners of prizes totalling sh3m in the ongoing Bukedde Boda-Boda Craze promotion have commended The New Vision for fulfiling their promise. Lillian Nalumansi reports that the readers said some companies start promotions and fail to reward winners. “I have known companies which announce promotions but make you move up and down for a prize till you give up. We are happy with Bukedde because we have got what we have won and we shall tell others that these prizes are real,” Hajji Jamil Semisambwa from Kayunga said. Semisambwa was among 10 lucky winners. The prize-giving ceremony took place at The New Vision headquarters on Third Street Industrial Area. The prizes won in the first draw of the eight-week promotion were handed over to the readers by New Vision circulation Manager Tom Wasswa and Bukedde deputy editor Godfrey Kulubya. Semisambwa won sh100,000. Edward Semakula, 32, a welder in Nabugalagala, received the biggest prize of a sh3m brand-new dark blue Japanese Jianshe CY80 motorbike UDC 600B. “We are very grateful to our readers because they sacrifice milk and beef to buy a newspaper,” Kulubya said. Semakula said, “My motorcycle will transport me to work.” Ends
