THE Toro Kingdom Parliament (Orukurato), meets today to consider a replacement for the convicted Premier (Omuhikirwa) John Sanyu Katuramu.

By Emmanuel Mulondo THE Toro Kingdom Parliament (Orukurato), meets today to consider a replacement for the convicted Premier (Omuhikirwa) John Sanyu Katuramu. The Orukurato speaker, Rev. Clovis Kyalimpa, said the meeting is to take place at Mucwa Complex, the kingdom administrative headquarters. He said Steven Nyabongo Rwakijuma, who is also the acting Omuhikirwa was the sole candidate who had by Tuesday confirmed his candidature. He said Katuramu constitutionally ceased to be premier after he was convicted. Katuramu is on death row after a September 12 High Court sentence for the murder of Prince Happy Kijjanangoma. According to the kingdom’s constitution, the king appoints the Omuhikirwa with the approval of the Orukurato. Kyalimpa said the Omuhikirwa will be sworn in tomorrow in Fort Portal after a church service at St. John’s Cathedral. Ends
