By Amlan Tumusiime SPECIAL Presidential advisor Maj. Roland Kakooza Mutale has vowed to crush those trying to block the implementation of President Yoweri Museveni’s 2001 election manifesto. “We are aware of such people but I swear I would crush them because they think the Movement has split because of the recent statements made by some big officials in Government calling for the re-introduction of multipartyism. They should know that the Movement is strong,” Mutale said. He said this on Saturday at Hoima Booma grounds during a farewell party for the outgoing Resident District Commissioner, Simon Mulongo. Mutale, who described himself as a mirror for the Movement also attacked some people whom he said did not understand his mode of operations and instead called him a mad man. “I want to inform all Ugandans that Kakooza Mutale is not a mad man because if I was mad, I would not be advising Museveni, who is a very clever man. The problem is people don’t understand the way I do my work but the President appreciates it,” he said. He said there were some people who said he was a mad man, forgetting that if their mental status was to be checked, they would be found to be more mad than he was. He said as far as he was concerned, the multiparty type of government should not be re-introduced permanently Speaking at the same occasion, Mulongo defended Mutale, saying he was not mad but a principled and straightforward officer. The function organised by the Hoima district local government was attended by the Hoima woman MP, Mrs. Beatrice Byenkya, the former LC5 chairman, James Kiiza Rwebembera and the new RDC, Deo Nsereko.
