By Vision Reporter A christmas play aimed at raising funds for Mulago Hospital’s paediatrics wards will be held at Aga Khan Primary School and Sheraton Hotel on December 15 and 16 respectively. The Perfect Gift, a play where Mary, the mother of Jesus is telling the story of her life, is being acted by children from Kampala primary schools. The play has been produced by a group of mothers under the banner of Paed-Aid. “Proceeds from the play will be used to buy equipment for the children’s wards like the colorimeter which is used to count haemoglobin in the blood, and resuscitation equipment,” said Dr Nakimera Kanyerezi, one of the mothers. Other machines include a coulter counter used to count the number of white blood cells and other components of blood, plastic sheets and digital thermometers. Dr. Kanyerezi said Mulago was chosen for the project because “that is where all Ugandans end up when everything goes wrong”. The Aga Khan show will start at 4.30pm for sh2,000 for children and sh5,000 for adults. The Sheraton performance will be at 6.30pm for sh15,000 for adults and sh5,000 for children. Tickets can be bought at Blitz Video.
