Abed circus -- Clubs beat CAF deadline

By Norman Katende NEITHER KCC nor SC Villa included controversial Congolese striker Said Abedi on their entry lists to their respective CAF competitions. Villa plays El Merreikh of Sudan in the first round of the CAF Champions league. KCC plays Saint George of Ethiopia in the CAF Cup while Express plays Al Mehalla of Egypt in the Africa Cup winners Cup. Abed, whose move to SC Villa is being blocked by his former club KCC who have allegedly failed to pay him promptly, was not on the list forwarded to CAF by Villa and KCC to beat the December 30 deadline set by CAF. “We have not finalised his license that is why he was not included on our team,” said a KCC official. Other notable absentees are Villa’s latest catch Alex Isabirye from SCOUL and Molly Byekwaso from KCC who has been training at Villa park. Express’ list had former Villa striker Andrew Mukasa and Mbarara’s Toto Songe as the biggest entry while KCC had Raul Lukusa another striker from Mbarara. The lists: KCC: Ibrahim Mugisha, L.
