By Hillary Nsambu THE Government and former Ugandan employees of the defunct East African Community will, on Friday, sign an out of court agreement to settle once and for all the the former employees' compensation. Mr Joseph Matsiko, Senior State Attorney, representing the Attorney General, yesterday told Justice Patrick Tabaro that the Cabinet had approved the package for the former employees. Matsiko told court that while the Government had agreed in principle to settle the matter out of court, the delay had been because of lack of Cabinet approval of the terminal benefits for the ex-employees. "We received communication on the benefits due to the ex-employees of the defunct EAC from the Cabinet only on Friday. We are to forward the details to the counsel for the beneficiaries between today (Tuesday) and Thursday," Matsiko said. He said the Attorney General would need up to Friday to furnish court with the calculations of the liabilities and also sign a consent order that day.
