A WOMAN was yesterday arrested at a polling station outside Kibuli Mosque in Kampala after she was found with 82 voters' cards in the Makindye LC3 by-elections, report Geoffrey Kamali and Edris Kisambira. The suspect, Hawa Nakandi, was picked by the Police after she was searched and found with 64 cards. She later produced 14 other cards and was whisked off to Kabalagala Police Post, eye witnesses said. Mr. Godfrey Aropet, the DPC Katwe Police Station, said he had not yet received a report about the arrest. The Makindye LC3 seat fell vacant in January after the former chairman, Mr. Cranimer Kalinda, was appointed Kampala RDC. Meanwhile, in Sembabule district, an LDU, Amos Niwagaba, was arrested by the Police over the disappearance of sh280,000, belonging to one of the candidates, reports Eddie Sejjoba. The officer in-charge of Sembabule town council Police post, Ivan Nuwamanya, said the LDU found Joseph Nsereko addressing about 50 supporters at Kasonzi, Lugusulu subcounty and attacked him. The two were reportedly engaged in a fist fight and the LDU sustained a cut on his face. Another candidate, Ahmed Katerega, lost over sh200,000 when some youth purporting to be his supporters, lifted him high while cheering him, but later stole his money. Ends
