CHESS league champions URA on Sunday bagged maximum points against lowly Mulago to go eight and half points clear on top of the table.

URA's Grace Nsubuga defeated veteran Jusper Pkwiyili while his team-mates Stephen Kawuma, Isaac Munanira and Ignatius Wanderema got walk overs on board two, three and four for their side to draw closer to a second successive title. With just three rounds to the end of the league, URA is likely to clinch the title this Sunday, with two rounds to spare. UCB edged Sharing to maintain the third position on 38 points, four points behind second placed Nsambya Sharing. UCB's Peter Maguzi and Michael Mawanda defeated Farouk Fauza and Paul Kabuye respectively while veteran Joachim Okoth (UCB) held Bob Bibasa to secure victory for their side. Sharing's Kenneth Kakooza beat UCB's George Senyomo to reduce the margin. Makerere University's Moses Kawuma and Tadeo Kiiza won while Kawuma Mutumba held Raphael Butti for the students to win. King Slayers' Vianney Luggya beat Peter Kasozi. The league continues this Sunday at EAGEN House on Entebbe road.
