By Isaac Kiyingi BUGANDA Road Chief Magistrate's Court was last week thrown into a frenzy when a 19 year old man was charged with 46 counts of defrauding Post Bank Limited in different branches all over the country. Ronald Senkera, an artist residing in Kansanga, appeared before Magistrate Catherine Bamugemereire on Monday. He was charged with 37 counts of stealing and nine counts of forging bank slips and bank pass books, all from the same bank. Senkera, dressed in a white shirt, first kept on denying the charges as they were read to him one by one by saying, "not guilty your Worship." When the cases reached thirty, court burst into a bout of laughter and the accused got tired of answering back. He resorted to shaking his head. Prosecution led by Charles Dickens Ojakol said the accused committed the offenses from June last year up to August this year at Kampala headquarters and branches like Wandegeya, Kisubi, Kibuye, and Mpigi branches. Other upcountry branches included Lugazi, Nabusanke, Wobulenzi, Kayunga, Masaka, Lyantonde, Mbale, Soroti, Fort-portal, Mbarara and Kabale. He allegedly stole a total of sh1.3m and forged sh1.8m. He was remanded to Luzira prison after he failed to produce substantial sureties.
