NILE Breweries, on Saturday, showed their continued commitment to the development of sports when they crowned this year's best sports journalists at a colourful function held at Hotel Africana.
Five New Vision reporters were among those who won prizes that included trophies and cash.
William Muwonge scooped the top prize for best Nile Special super League reporter with Monitor's Andrew Oryada coming second.
Hassan Badru Zziwa of the Monitor was voted best sports writer of the year beating the winner for the last two years, Kenneth Matovu.
Michael Nsubuga and Ronnie Kintu also got second positions for best photographer and best rookie (new comer) awards respectively.
The top prizes for the two categories, went to Eddie Chicco and Daniel Kalinaki of the Monitor.
Bogere Masembe and Ben Omoding Junior, won the best radio and Television presenter awards respectively.
Ronald Kagwa and Silvano Kibuuka of Bukedde scooped the first and second of the vernacular writer award.
State minister for Trade Gilbert Bukenya presided over the function.
