More than sh15m in cash was robbed in two separate incidents in Kampala during the Christmas holiday, reports Davis Weddi. Kampala Police chief Benjamin Namanya yesterday said four thugs armed with a sub-machine gun grabbed about sh10.5million from Agip Kireka filling station on Christmas day. Another robbery occurred on Christmas Eve at the Coca-Cola depot in Nateete where armed men took about sh5m from depot staff. Police spokesman Asuman Mugenyi said the four thugs entered the petrol station at 10:30am in a white Toyota Corona with a fake registration number, 644UBR. They grabbed the money from a pump attendant and the station manager and took all the money from the station's food store. Namanya also said the Police shot dead a suspected thug at the weekend. He said the man was one of four who grabbed a gun from a Police officer near Kinawataka, a city suburb. Ends
