PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Nasser Ntege Sebaggala has assured his supporters that he is qualified enough to lead the country, reports Nicholas Kajoba. "I know many of you could be worried that I may be disqualified from the campaign for president, but I assure you that the qualifications I have are enough to enable me run the presidential race,'' he said. Sebaggala, who was addressing consultative meetings in Kayunga town at the weekend, said he was moving around the district to get enough nomination signatures. "I am moving around collecting signatures, but I appeal to you to support me so that we remove President Museveni through the ballot," he said. He said most Ugandans would live to regret once they don't vote for him, but for Museveni. Sebaggala said the Movement does not have an agenda, saying they had invited him several times to join their camp, but he declined. Sebaggala promised to modernise agriculture and increase on the price of coffee exported once elected president. "When I am elected president, I will reduce on the tax levied on coffee exported abroad so that Ugandans can earn more profits,'' he said. At least 16 presidential aspirants have picked nomination forms to run for the presidency next year. The nominations are set for January 8 and 9. Other aspirants are Retired Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye, Samia-Bugwe North MP Aggrey Awori, Democratic Party splinter group leader Francis Bwengye, Justice Forum's Muhammed Kibirige Mayanja who also contested the 1996 presidential polls and NDF leader Karuhanga Chapaa.
