PEOPLE'S Progressive Party (PPP) presidential candidate, Jabeli Bidandi Ssali, has praised former Presidents Idi Amin and Milton Obote saying they left a clean leadership record.

Bidandi said Amin and Obote didn’t steal government’s resources, were not corrupt and served to fulfill the needs of the people.

“Obote served two terms and died without stealing any acre of government land; even Kigyambiya (Amin) didn’t steal any government property. The only thing Amin did was to buy helicopters which were government property,” he said.

Bidandi Ssali made the remarks while campaigning in Kiruhura and Mbarara districts on Tuesday. He said the current leadership in Uganda had become a business.

“Vote Bidandi Ssali he is the only person who will lead you from the leadership of a gun, who will not steal you resources and who will not own chunks of land,” he said.

While campaigning in Mbarara, Bidandi said he had a clean record because he was trained by good leaders like Milton Obote.

Bidandi added that Uganda could have a leader who was not a soldier adding that he was the only leader who could be close to the ordinary Ugandan.
