KAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club and Nkumba University are tipped for honours at the 2010 volleyball awards at Emerald Hotel this evening. The two clubs will officially be crowned as league champions in men and women respectively in the Uganda Volleyball Federation event.

KAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club and Nkumba University are tipped for honours at the 2010 volleyball awards at Emerald Hotel this evening. The two clubs will officially be crowned as league champions in men and women respectively in the Uganda Volleyball Federation event.

But a tight race for the award of the Most Valuable Player (MV) is expected to take centre stage in the colourful evening.

KAVC, who celebrated their 40th anniversary last month are expected to add the icing to the cake as they boast six players in the 14-man list.

On their part, Nkumba also have six players among the 16 women lined up for the MVP award.

Amos Ainebyona tops the KAVC list of nominees for the men’s MVP accolade. Others are Richard Tamale, Hannington Nsubuga, Pierre Kamugasha, Titus Toma and Alex Nduhukire.

Nkumba has Faridah Namajja, Prossy Alobo, Jackie Achieng, Tinah Nakagwa, Hellen Namazzi and Violet Akisa among the 15 nominees.
