Workers’ MPs retain seats

SPORTS State Minister, Charles Bakabulindi has bounced back to Parliament as a workers’ Member of Parliament.

SPORTS State Minister, Charles Bakabulindi has bounced back to Parliament as a workers’ Member of Parliament.

Three other incumbent MPs have been re-elected at the election for workers MP held at Mandela National stadium, Namoboole.

They include; Teopista Sentengo, Dr. Sam Lyomoki and Marion Tunde. Long serving Workers’ MP Bruno Pajobo has been trounced by a new comer, Arinaitwe Rwakajara. The elected MPs all contested on NRM ticket.

Workers MPs are elected through an electoral college comprised of trade unions. The organizations are national Organization of Trade Union (NOTU) and the Centre for Free Trade Union (COFTU).

Electoral Commission yesterday nominated 11 people to contest for the five slots.
