“If anybody jokes with this victory of Ugandans, I will hold him like a samosa or a cake and swallow them up,” President Yoweri Museveni warning people who are threatening to cause violence after the general elections.

“ There is a difference between participating in partisan politics and congratulating the President,” Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere, after sending a congratulatory message to President Museveni.

"This will put Ugandans under the dictatorship of one man, which I think will totally be rejected by the people of this country," Uganda Federal Alliance president Beti Kamya commenting about MP James Kakooza's suggestion that the presidential term limit should be increased from five to seven years.

“It is the candidates who bribe our officials and at the end of the day, they blame the Electoral Commission,” EC chairman Dr Badru Kiggundu commenting about allegations that Electoral Commission officials had been bribed.
