SHOUTS of joy and excitement covered Kibingo Girls’ Secondary School in Sheema district recently when the students saw their library boosted with a consignment of text books.

The textbooks worth over sh6.8m were donated to the school by the Rotary Club of Bushenyi in partnership with two Rotary clubs of Tallequa and Southside both in the US.

Handing over the books to the school’s administration and students’ representatives at the school compound, Sister Ephrance Nuwamanya, a Rotarian, said the donation was through community and social networking.

Nuwamanya said the only way to help girls improve their academic standards is to equip them with what is required, especially the textbooks which they can use to carry out research. She encouraged the girls to work hard to excel and become responsible citizens.

The headmistress, Allen Kyasiimire, said the school had few text books because they were operating on a tight budget that could not allow them to buy enough “With this boost, we shall have to produce good results,” she pledged.
